"Orkin Week" and 10th Anniversary: How Orkin Georgia Summarized its Jubilee Date

The company "Orkin Georgia" is celebrating its 10th anniversary of successful operations on the local market. This year, the jubilee coincided with the company’s traditional series of events- "Orkin Week." The week, which is typically dedicated to sharing professional knowledge, also included a summary of the company’s ten-year history this year.

"Orkin Week" has been held annually during the autumn season since 2018 and has established itself as one of the most important and large-scale platforms in the field of pest prevention and control nationwide. The primary mission of the week is to raise industry awareness, showcase the social significance of the profession, and strengthen partnership ties. Through a diverse and engaging program, an active exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experience takes place annually between academic circles, regulatory structures, and the private sector, which in turn promotes the integration of global industry standards into the Georgian market.

"Orkin Week" traditionally unites several key directions. The company organizes large-scale conferences with industry experts and regulatory bodies, conducts educational visits to universities to raise awareness among the younger generation, and simultaneously participates actively in industrial exhibitions while organizing direct meetings with potential and existing clients. It is this complex approach that ensures the annual success of the event and facilitates the effective implementation of global standards in the Georgian market.

Notably, as part of the week, Georgia was traditionally visited by Dr. Ron Harrison, Orkin’s Director of International Technical Services, Ph.D., Board Certified Entomologist, and an influential expert in the field, who is also a long-time supporter and friend of Georgia. His direct involvement as one of the keynote speakers in seminars, conferences, and practical discussions ensures the sharing of global experience, which is a vital part of the events.

Orkin Week 2025 began with participation in the 23rd International Exhibition for Agriculture, Food Industry, Processing, and Packaging Technologies- Agro Expo 2025. Orkin has attended this exhibition for several years, introducing visitors to services based on international standards that the company offers its customers.

A special part of the week was dedicated to relations with academic circles, which is an integral part of the company's social responsibility. Supporting the younger generation is important to Orkin; therefore, it actively promotes the involvement of students in both scientific and practical processes. This year, Orkin visited Ilia State University, where Dr. Harrison conducted an interactive lecture for students. The meeting was engaging, allowing students to gain theoretical knowledge and discuss real cases and industry challenges with company representatives.

It should be noted that a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Orkin Georgia and Ilia State University several years ago, under which they have carried out many important educational meetings and plan interesting joint projects for the future.

This year's week was also significant in terms of developing strategic partnerships. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the Association of Epidemiologists and Infection Control Specialists of Georgia, which ensures the integration of the pest control field into epidemiological and public health aspects and creates a solid foundation for future joint projects.

The final days of "Orkin Week" were dedicated to conferences and direct meetings with representatives of the business sector, regulatory bodies, industry experts, and existing or potential clients.

The summary of the professional component took place at a large-scale conference attended by nearly 200 people. The main focus of the event was on Integrated Pest Management (IPM), which is one of the most important and modern approaches in the industry. The discussion of IPM is directly linked to critical areas such as food safety, building maintenance, hygiene and sanitation, consumer health, occupational safety, and environmental protection. Furthermore, such meetings represent an important platform for professional networking and experience sharing, which strengthens cooperation within the sector.

As mentioned, this year's week held special significance for Orkin Georgia due to the jubilee date. The week's busy professional agenda concluded with a corporate dinner for employees. This was a symbolic summary of the long journey the company began in 2015 with a small team; today, with nearly 90 qualified staff members and the full involvement of the founders, it successfully continues its activities, development, and growth in the industry.
